Julieta staged it in 2019 in Sofia out of her own strength – as an actress, set- and costume designer and producer. I admire her commitment and fearlessnes and am proud to contribute to her process.
The play is about a woman who has suffered violence and abuse all her life. She represses her feelings, accepts the circumstances as given and takes refuge in fantasies of new romantic encounters. The design of the poster and leporello had to reflect on that. It was not easy for me to crumple up the portrait of the young Julietta.
